It Begins

How do I start this thing?  Words, words, words.

Welcome!   This is The Chai Cyclist blog.  Spring has come and it has made it necessary that I find some new digs, due to the fact that my original blog is iciclebicycle.  It melted with the snow.  Nobody can get too excited about a snowy blog when all they want is to see the green of Spring.  With that understanding, I have started up this blog.  Keeping the bike, but replacing the icy emphasis with a chai(same as tea) one.

What do they have to do with each other?  Nothing but the fact that I like bikes and tea with equal abandonment.  Tea is often a prime motivation for me getting on my bike, some days.  When it was -10F, the thought of a warm chai at Namaste Cafe, tipped the balance in favor of riding.  The reverse is often true.  I want to go for a ride, but where to?  Ah, some tea and conversation.  I have a good feeling about this new blogs mix .  They say write about what you love.  And I have deep love of both of these pursuit's.  Let the fun begin!

Love that first photo! I'm looking forward to seeing your favorite tea destinations (and more of handsome Harvey, too, of course).

Hi, I love tea too. Learned proper tea drinking when I lived in Ireland (strong black tea with milk and sugar in a huge mug :-)). Had such a tea this morning as well, after cycling to the university in light rain. Enjoyed both.. But I also love coffee - well, it's impossible to avoid that then when one lives in Vienna.

All the best for your new blog. I'll keep watching it.

lynn~ I have tons of ideas about tea topics. But I'd gotta remember to keep blogging about bikes, too.

anna~ I don't have anything against coffee. I used to love it. My regular drink was a double espresso with equal parts cream and some honey. Mmmm! I used to be able to have one and go straight to sleep. But something changed and it's too potent for me, now.

ps. I did enjoy Viennese coffee when I was there in the 90's.

My regular morning tea is a black tea from Nepal.

I love tea (and tisanes)! Oolong (and Rooibos). This blog is such a good idea.

I love Rooibos! I have a blueberry one that is a lot of fun. How about Honeybush? Tastes like Rooibos with honey. I have drifted away from oolongs but had some Ti Quan Yin, this weekend. I tend to be more toward the Pouchang end of the spectrum of oolongs and will be picking some up in the near future.

Thanks for everybody's encouragement. I have a had a little distraction, but will be refocusing on tea and bikes, very soon.
